Australian Veterans’ Recognition (Putting Veterans and their Families First) Bill 2019

You will be aware, the Australian Veterans’ Recognition (Putting Veterans and their Families First) Bill 2019 was tabled in Parliament on 14 February and referred to the Senate Committee for Foreign Affairs Defence and Trade for inquiry and report on 22 March.  The Senate Report is out and the link is provided.

In summary, the report recommends the Bill pass without amendment. This is a great outcome but does not give assurance it is pass in the final sitting week for budget, but I am hoping.

If passed, we will continue to work with our ex-service community to implement or refine as necessary.  We will also provide response to all submissions made to the Inquiry – either in person or in writing.
