Vale Pte Clive Dick – 5RAR 1969-70

Late of Waratah NSW, PTE Clive Dick died peacefully on Wednesday 1 August, after losing his long battle with cancer.

Clive was deployed to South Vietnam to join 1 ARU from 13 May to 3 June 1969. On 4 June he was posted to 5 RAR and served in 4 Platoon B Company for the balance of the battalion’s 1969-70 Tour.

He re-enlisted in 1977 and served for a further 21 years in the ARA. During his basic training on his return to the ADF he was known as Grand-pop because of his age and the wearing of his service ribands.

A Funeral Service will be held for Clive at James Murray Funeral Chapel, 44 Blackall St, Broadmeadow on Friday 10 August, commencing at 13.00 hours. In lieu of flowers donations to the Cancer Council can be made at this service.
